There is a formal campground about 20 minutes away, the excellent Beals Point State Park on Folsom Lake, 12 miles South of Auburn on Auburn-Folsom Rd. The campground is on the shores of Folsom Lake and offers all the amenities - running water, showers, RV spaces, pets allowed, etc. Nightly fees range from $12-16. Auburn
: From Interstate-80, exit Highway 49 and proceed South on 49 until the T intersection of
Lincoln Way
(only .25 miles from I-80). Turn Right on
Lincoln Way
and approach the historic Auburn Courthouse. Turn left at the signal light in front of the Courthouse onto Auburn-Folsom Rd. Proceed for ~13 miles (passing the Pacific Ave signal light that goes to Railhead Park) to Beals Point State Park entrance (signal light). Turn left into park entrance and proceed to visitors booth.
